Perfect Entertaining worked with Shelley from Shelley's SecretGarden and The Garden Kitchen to develop a menu based on Shelley's great recipes. Described by Shelley as recipes that "have all been cooked by me, and enjoyed by many, right here in my own garden kitchen, in Louisiana", they make a great meal for a dinner al fresco in the garden. All of the dishes are quickly prepared and the entrée and side dish bake easily together in the oven. They all also can be assembled ahead of time, allowing you to just slide them into the oven at the correct time.
Grilled Shrimp Italian Baked Round Steak Potatoes Savoyard Asparagus Casserole Pineapple Coconut Chess Pie Recipe notes:
Start off the evening with the Grilled Shrimp cooked and served in the garden with cocktails or frosty drinks.
About 1 3/4 hours before dinner prepare the Italian Baked Round Steak and place in the oven. Keep warm on the stove if it is ready before your guests are. The Potatoes Savoyard and Asparagus Casserolecan be prepared and assembled ahead of time, but do not place them in the oven until 30 minutes before dinner.
The Pineapple Coconut Chess Pie can be made up to a day in advance.
