Detail of Caramel Apple-Almond Crepes

Caramel Apple-Almond Crepes

A great dish for dessert or breakfast, these filled crepes are quick and easy to make, full of wonderful flavor, and make any occasion special.

Pecan Biscuits

These biscuits have a very interesting flavor that is not immediately apparent because the pecans are ground. They make a nice touch to any dinner and are very Southern in nature.

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup ground toasted pecans
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
6 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, ground pecans, and baking soda in a large bowl. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter or 2 knives until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. Add in the buttermilk and stir until the dough just sticks together. Place the dough on a well-floured surface and gently knead 3 times. Pat out the dough and cut with a round biscuit cutter or glass. Re-pat the scraps and cut again. Place the biscuits on a cookie sheet and bake for 13-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Makes 12 biscuits.
