Super Quick Barbecue Sauce
This simple and easy sauce is perfect for those unbearably hot summer days when you just cannot bear to make a long cooking barbecue sauce. It is simple, spicy, and marvelous on a wide variety of different meats. We especially like it with our Crockpot Pulled Pork and slathered over pork ribs. The sauce stores in the refrigerator for at least a week with excellent results.
1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Dash cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Whisk together all of the ingredients until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
Makes 2 3/4 cups sauce.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Chilling Time: 24 hours
Total Time: 24 hours, 5 minutes
